The Interactive Spanish School and its courses offer

Great experience of teaching Spanish and an Intercultural learning process working interactively with the local culture in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level.

Friendly atmosphere and an open and responsible teaching attitude.
Interactive teaching methods that are helpful in order to understand the complex and diverse process of learning a language, where confidence, motivation and different kinds of experiences and interests are combined.

Exercises and material constructed by the Interactive Spanish School professional teaching team.
Different level according to the students: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.
Group courses (max. 5 ): 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 or 4 weeks. We offer also individual classes.


Teacher and Director: Arturo Morales

Arturo Morales is a prominent Chilean poet, deeply connected to the city of Valparaíso, which has earned him the nickname of “poeta porteño” (poet of the port city). His work draws from the essence of the port, its streets, and its people, capturing the city’s identity in his verses. Throughout his career, Morales has been widely recognized for his significant contributions to Chilean literature, and his works in poetry have been presented both locally and in international translations in such countries as Germany, Italy, and the United States.

Awards and Recognitions

  • Valparaíso Municipal Literature Prize (2007): The most significant local recognition, validating his important contribution to the literature of his native city.
  • L’Olio della Poesia Prize (2002): A prestigious award received in Italy which, in addition to acknowledging his talent, led to his work being published and disseminated for the first time in that country with the booklet “Smarrimenti del mondo” (Wanderings of the World).

  • 1997: “Extravíos” (Misplacements/Lost Ways) (poetry collection), with a prologue by Professor Sergio Vuskovic Rojo.
  • 1999: “23 Poemas Itinerantes” (23 Itinerant Poems) (poetry collection). The presentation of this work coincided with the date of the poetic founding of Valparaíso by the author himself.
  • 2001: “Oficio de Alta Costura” (High Fashion Craft) (poetry collection).
  • 2005: “Escenas de un país en guerra y otros versos” (Scenes from a Country at War and Other Verses) (poetry collection).
  • 2005: “Oráculos” (Oracles) (poetry collection), presented by poet Juan Cameron.

  • 2021: “Pláticas en la Quebrada Elías” (Talks in Quebrada Elías) (poetry collection).

  • 2002: Publication in Bardo art magazine (Anno XII N°2), Italy.
  • 2002: Publication in the poetry book “Recital Poetas en la Ciudad” (Poets’ Recital in the City) (Chile).
  • 2002: Invited to the “International Poetry Month” at Pingree School, Massachusetts, United States of America, to lead the workshop “Texts and Contexts.”
  • 2002: Director and editor of the cultural newsletter “Hoja Itinerante” (Itinerant Paper), Valparaíso, Chile.
  • 2003: Jury member for the Literature discipline of the Regional Government of Valparaíso, Cultural Capital of Chile and World Heritage City.
  • 2004: Published in the book “100 años 100 Poemas” (100 Years 100 Poems), as a tribute to the centenary of the birth of Poet Pablo Neruda, in Parral, Chile.
  • 2005: Invited to read at the Valparaíso Cultural Carnivals.
  • Municipal Initiative: Through an initiative by the Municipality of Valparaíso and the National Book and Reading Fund, his poems have been published on the city’s streets.
  • Collaborations and Presentations: Has participated in various cultural activities and book launches by other authors, such as the presentation of “Valparasueños” by poet Emilio Neira, where he read the prologue.
  • Cofradía Les Enfants Terribles: Member of this cultural-poetic group in Valparaíso, participating in its events and celebrations, which include poetry readings.
